Randall O. “Randy” St. Laurent, 20, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Randy was born in Nashua on May 15, 1996, a son of Lori L. (Michaud) St. Laurent of Nashua and Randall St. Laurent Larocque of Canada. He was educated in local schools. Randy was a beloved son, brother and friend. He will be remembered for his big heart, beautiful smile and will be sadly missed by many.
Besides his parents, members of his family include a brother, Ryan Larocque; a sister, Hannah St. Laurent; maternal grandmother, Marcia I. Michaud of Davenport, FL; uncles and aunts, Scott and Christine Michaud and their children, Eric and Tyler; and Marc and Anita Michaud and their children, Evan and Kayla. Randy was predeceased by his beloved grandfather, Sylvio R. “Sonny” Michaud who passed away in June 2013.

Norma S. (Palmer) Colarusso

Norma Shirley (Palmer) Colarusso, 94, a longtime resident of Nashua, widow of Harold W. Colarusso, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, December 22, 2016 at the Courville at Nashua.
A resident of Nashua for the greater part of her life, Norma was born in Brunswick, Maine on April 1, 1922, a daughter of the late Perley R. and Nellie L. (Keith) Palmer. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1940.
Mrs. Colarusso had been employed with the former New England Bobbin and Shuttle and Sprague Electric Company both in Nashua. In her leisure time, Norma enjoyed Candlepin bowling.
Norma and her husband Harold, were married on July 24, 1943 and made their home in Nashua, Merrimack and Amherst over the years. The couple shared 54 years together until Harold’s passing on March 2, 1998. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond S. and Priscilla A. (Morin) Palmer and Roland H. and Helen F. (Barnaby) Palmer; her sister and brother-in-law, Lillian V. and George A. Forrence II; her sister-in-law, Dorothy (Colarusso) Mills; and her brother-in-law, Harvey Tremblay.
Members of her family include a brother-in-law, Robert Mills of Florida; sister-in-law, Rita Tremblay of Nashua; her closest friend, Claire Gamache of Nashua; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma’s caregiver, Debi Robertson of Orlando, FL, wishes to express her sincere gratitude to the staff of Courville at Nashua for their care of her aunt.

Raymond G. Hamelin, Jr., 73, of Hudson, husband of Brenda M. (Richardson) Hamelin, passed away at his home, Thursday evening, December 22, 2016 after a period of declining health.
A resident of Hudson for many years, Mr. Hamelin was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 12, 1943, son of the late Raymond G. and Olga (Bagdonas) Hamelin. During his youth, Ray resided in Lowell and Billerica, MA and was educated in Lowell schools. He had been employed for many years as a mechanic in the automotive business.
Ray was life member of Nashua Lodge #720 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a communicant of St. John The Evangelist Church in Hudson. In his leisure time, Ray loved spending time with his grandchildren, boating and playing solitaire on his computer. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Members of his family include his wife Brenda, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 4, 2017; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer J. and Peter Cebrero of Hudson; his granddaughters, Isabella and Sofia Cebrero; his sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Richard Bedard and their children, Elaine and Stephen of Pelham, NH; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan and Cheryl Richardson and their children, Heather, Bethany and Ashley of Rhode Island.

Felix A. Rexer

Felix A. Rexer, 83, of Hudson and formerly of Nashua, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 21, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness.
Mr. Rexer was born in Mannheim, Germany on August 19, 1933 a son of the late Karl and Lina (Hatzenuehler) Rexer. Educated in Germany, he was a high school graduate and attended a business college.
Felix moved to Nashua in 1975 and resided on Lille Road and later Newcastle Drive before relocating to Hudson. He had been employed as a machine designer for Improved Plastics Machinery Company in Hudson for several years.
He married Ann Elizabeth McGlade of New York City in 1965 and shared 28 years together until her passing on January 20, 1994.
Members of his family include a brother, Rudolf Rexer of West Springfield, MA; and a sister, Marianne Flanagan of Florida.

Priscilla A. (Morin) Palmer, 92, a former longtime Nashua resident, widow of Raymond S. Palmer, passed away Tuesday evening, December 20, 2016 at The Elm’s in Milford, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Palmer was born in Hudson, NH on July 16, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Josephine L. (Hanson) Morin. Priscilla was educated in Nashua schools and had been employed for a time at the former New England Bobbin and Shuttle and Nashua Plastics.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband Raymond who passed away on February 4, 1993; a brother, Francis Morin; and two sisters, Rosamond Cuscia and Nancy Morin.
Members of her family include three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia A. and Denis Anctil of Nashua, Sandra A. Gagnon-Eaton and Richard Eaton of Hooksett and Cheryl P. and Arthur Marshall of Hudson; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Theresa Morin of Nashua; two sisters, Gloria Cote and Elaine Adamonis both of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert Joseph Fay, Sr., born to the late Francis Fay and Eva Fontaine Fay, formally of Fall River, Ma, died on December 19, 2016 at the age of 79 years old. He accomplished much in his lifetime. Robert, “ Bob” attended Msgr. Prevost High School, graduating the class of 1957. He was an athlete his entire life, captain of the basketball and baseball varsity teams. He was inducted into the Prevost Athletic Hall of Fame. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Lavoie, who predeceased him. Bob was an avid golfer, bowler, and loved dancing. He especially loved the beach and he was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield,NH. He was a member of the Souhegan golf league and a competitor in the Merrimack Ten Pin bowling league. He continued to love sports and cheered on the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. Bob served eight years in the National Guard, worked for Globe Manufacturing in Fall River, MA. He later moved his family to Litchfield, NH and worked for Wang Labs. Bob is survived by his three children: Nadine Pimental and her husband Carlos Pimental and their son, Joshua Cabral of Fall River, MA; his son, Robert Joseph Fay,Jr., his wife Sherry Fay and their two daughters, Miranda and Avery Fay of Litchfield, NH; his daughter, Stephanie Reimers and her husband, Charles “Chuck” Reimers and their two children, Suriana and Calder Reimers of Dixmont, ME, his identical twin brother, Donald Fay and his wife, Dorothy Fay of Nashua, NH, and his sister Constance “Connie” Caron of Tiverton, RI. Bob had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He also had two brothers who predeceased him, Albert Fay and Frank “Sonny” Fay.

J. Richard “Dick” Piwowarski

J. Richard “Dick” Piwowarski, 82, of Nashua, a well-known retired coach and athletic director, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday evening, December 18, 2016.
A lifelong resident of this city, Dick was born on March 12, 1934, a son of the late Boleslaw and Agnes (Badar) Piwowarski. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1951 and attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Saint Anselm’s College. He later earned two Master’s degrees in Education and Administration from Rivier College. An Army veteran, he served with the 3rd Armed Division in Germany with the peace keeping troops and was activated during the Lebanon Crisis in 1958.
Mr. Piwowarski began his teaching career at the former Spring Street Junior High School before being hired by Bishop Guertin High School in 1966. During his 45 years at BG, Dick served as athletic director and coached the baseball, basketball, football teams, and was instrumental in the organization of the first hockey team at BG. He also taught science, biology, and chemistry.
Dick married Yvonne H. Michaud on September 3, 1956 and shared 54 years together until her passing on May 9, 2011.
He was pre-deceased by one brother, Eugene D. Piwowarski, and a loving Ciocia, Jadwiga Jhnatowicz, who arrived from Poland in 1907 with Dick’s mother. Members of his family include his five children and their spouses, Richard and Lorraine Piwowarski and their children, Cristina and Paul of Nashua, Celeste and Marc Migneault and their children, Darren and Micala of NH, Mathew and Sandra Piwowarski and their children, Emma, Julia and Elissa of Webster, MA, Patrick John “PJ” Piwowarski of Nashua and Steven and Joanne Piwowarski and their children, Sara and Joseph of Cumberland, ME; two sisters-in-law, Jeannette Piwowarski of Salem, NH and Jeanne Franklin of Nashua; a special cousin, Janice Sweklo and her husband Joseph of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Helen M. Burns, 95, of Nashua, NH, widow of Robert C. Burns, and formerly of Lowell Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, December 16, 2016 at The Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH after a period of declining health.

Helen was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Adolphe and Polina (George) Faticanti. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and worked several years in an administrative role for a local textile company. She met her beloved husband Bob on the dance floor at the Commodore Ballroom where it was love at first dance. They married and became longtime residents of Nashua where Helen made her home and raised her loving family. She was a communicant of St. Christopher Church. Helen was an avid reader, accomplished cook and had a love for ballroom dancing. Her love, loyalty and support to her family is an inspiration and example to all who knew her. Her beautiful smile lit every room she walked into and will never be forgotten.

Alfred A. Lawrence

Alfred A. Lawrence, 94, of Nashua, a well-known photographer, passed away on Friday morning, December 9, 2016 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

A Nashua native, he was born on October 2, 1922 to the late Laura (Burelle) and Doras “Bill” Lawrence. Alfred attended local schools and graduated from Nashua High School in 1941. He served in the United States Army for four years and took courses at Stanford University to become a Japanese interpreter. He later opened Cameraland in Nashua and owned it for 65 years before its closing in 2010. Alfred also worked part time as a wedding photographer.

Alfred married Lorraine (Gendron) Lawrence on September 8, 1951 and the couple shared a wonderful 65 years of marriage together. Alfred enjoyed camping and traveling to destinations such as Europe and Hawaii. He loved entertaining family and friends and took pride in taking care of the family pool. Earlier in his life, Alfred loved flying his Plane and was active with the Boy Scouts after achieving his Eagle Scout.

Members of his family include his wife Lorraine, his five children and their spouses; Linda & David Thomas of Virginia, Diane & Bryan Erskine of Greene, Maine, Joyce & Michael Calvetti of Derry, Brian & Beverly Lawrence of Merrimack, and Carol & Andy Holt, also of Merrimack; eleven grandchildren, Seth, Adam, Joshua, Justin, Jared, Rylan, Bryce, Katie, Brad, Amanda, and Brenden; eleven great-grandchildren; also nieces, nephews, and cousins. Peter James Lafferty, 31, of Nashua, died peacefully at home on Friday morning, December 2, 2016. He was born August 26, 1985, in Manchester, the son of Tim and Joan Lafferty of Nashua. He was raised and educated in Milford and Nashua. He was a 2004 graduate of Nashua High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Pete lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and most recently cancer, yet that did not stop him from living an active and full life. He was a member of Crossway Christian Church in Nashua for many years, and more recently was involved in Crossway’s Milford Campus over the past two years. He enjoyed being part of the ministry and he had a genuine love for God and for people.
He was also actively involved in Joni and Friends, a ministry outreach to individuals and families affected by disabilities. He served in a variety of ways throughout the years, and always enjoyed being involved in their annual Family Retreats, which were often the highlight of his year.
He was a member of the Nashua-Hudson Toastmasters Club and served in a variety of roles including President in 2014. Pete was honored to receive the club’s Toastmaster of the Year award in 2011 and 2016. In addition, he was a big New England sports fan and took pride in the many championships that were won during his lifetime.
Pete confronted his disease with a level of courage and grace that was truly a testament to his faith, hope and love of Jesus. He inspired his family, friends, and everyone he met by his inspirational speaking, his poetry, his online posts, and most importantly, through the manner in which he lived his life to bring honor and glory to God. We are grateful to everyone who was part of his life, and we’re thankful for the wonderful care that he received from all the medical professionals, caregivers and volunteers over the years.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Marge and Bud Disbrow of Cheshire, CT; his paternal grandmother, Toni Lafferty of Groveland, MA; aunts and uncles, Linda Disbrow of Hamden, CT; Jim and Judi Lafferty of Groveland, MA; John and Lauri Lafferty of Evanston, IL; Tom and Maureen Lafferty of Portland, ME; Liz Lafferty of Manchester, and Joanne Lafferty of Portland, ME; and cousins, Molly and Dan Lindberg of South Portland, ME, and Noah and Sophie Lafferty of Evanston, IL. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Joe Lafferty, his grandfather, James Lafferty, and an uncle, Paul Disbrow.

Janet M. Ries, 87, of Hollis, NH, widow of Frank W. Ries, passed away Monday evening, November 28, 2016 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua after a brief illness.
A resident of Hollis for the past ten years, Mrs. Ries was born in Millinocket, Maine on July 21, 1929, one of eight children of the late Joseph and Marie (Bouchard) Baron.
Prior to moving to Hollis, Janet and her family made their home in Alton, NH and Framingham, MA. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Resurrection in Nashua and will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Janet was predeceased by her husband Frank who passed away in 2000; her brothers, Mark, Leonard, Murio, Joseph and Louis Baron; and a sister, Claire Beaulieu.
Members of her family include her son, Frank W. Ries, Jr. of Hollis, with whom she resided; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Randall Blake of Jacksonville, FL; a grandson, Scott Blake; a sister, Geneva Pelletier of Sicklerville, NJ; also many nieces and nephews.

Mary L. Burke

Mary L. Burke, 71, of Milford and a former longtime Nashua resident, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 1, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Alice C. (Kasper) Burke. Mary attended the former Sacred Heart School of St. Patrick Church and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1963. Later in her life, Mary earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Franklin Pierce College and continued to pursue her MBA from Rivier College now Rivier University.
Mary joined Chalet Susse International in 1978 an was an integral part of Roedel Companies’ history. She began as the Administrative Assistant to the President and then as Manager of Administration. In 1993, Mary was promoted to Vice President of Marketing for Chalet Susse International, where she served in various management roles. The Roedel Family was a very special part of Mary’s life, especially Fred and Kay. We would like to acknowledge the entire Roedel family for always treating Mary as their own. We will be forever grateful for the kindness, generosity and the love you have shown to Mary for the better part of her life.
Active in the Nashua community, Mary was a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua. She was also a Big Sister with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Program and an ESI Tutor at the Adult Learning Center in Nashua.
She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite. She will be remembered as a kind-hearted woman with an endless sense of humor.
Members of her family include her brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Patricia Burke of Arizona and Thomas and Pauline Burke of Nashua; her brothers-in-law, Raymond J. Landry of Nashua and Rick Burgess of Merrimack; her aunt and uncle, Beverly and John Kasper of Nashua; also many nieces and nephews. Mary was blessed with many incredible friends, especially Amy and Rachel who will forever have her in their hearts. Doris N. Hartnett, 88, of Nashua, widow of David P. Hartnett, passed away early Friday morning, November 25, 2016 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Hartnett was born in Exeter, New Hampshire on June 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Luther P. and Shirley (Merrill) Nichols. During her youth, Doris resided in Dover where she was educated and graduated from Dover High School Class of 1946. She later made her home in Pelham, NH, Woburn, Burlington and Malden, MA and California before moving to Nashua in the 1960s. While raising her family, Doris also worked in the electronics and computer industry at Schlumberger, Inc. of Billerica, MA for eleven years.
Doris was a former communicant of St. Christopher Church, sang in the choir and served as a Eucharistic Minister. In 1988, Doris and her husband relocated to Plant City, Florida where she was a communicant of St. Clements Church and was a member of the Golden Lakes Golf Club.
In addition to her husband David who passed away in 2006; Doris was also predeceased by three sons, David P. Hartnett Jr, Dennis D. Hartnett and Daniel J. Hartnett; and her brother, Bruce N. Nichols.
Members of her family include a son and his wife, Dana J. and Denise Hartnett of Merrimack, NH; two daughters-in-law, Joanne Hartnett of Nashua and Beverly Hartnett of Worcester, MA; three grandchildren, Scott, Doug and Lisa Hartnett; nine great-grandchildren, Oliana Hartnett, Moira-Riley Hartnett, Ian Hartnett, Brooke Loepp, Kira Malloy, Chase Wilson, Alexander Hartnett, Qhorin Hartnett and Morrighan Hartnett; also nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, Wednesday morning, November 30th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua. Theresa L. “Terry” St. Laurent, 86, a lifelong resident of Nashua, widow of Emile H. St. Laurent, passed away Tuesday morning, November 22, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Mrs. St. Laurent was born in Nashua on July 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Ernest and Philomene (Noel) Desrosiers. Educated in local schools, Terry was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1950 and was actively involved with her class reunions.
While raising her family, Terry went to work after her husband’s death in May 1972. She was employed with the Nashua Police Department as a Crossing Guard at St. Christopher School and was a Lunch Monitor at Charlotte Avenue School for many years. She later worked as a waitress at the Merrimack Hilton and then the Crowne Plaza Hotel where she loved taking care of the Rotarians, until her retirement at the age of 80.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Terry loved her family and hosting gatherings at her home. She was an avid reader and knitter. Mrs. St. Laurent was a longtime communicant of St. Christopher Church.
Terry was predeceased by her husband of 21 years Emile H. St. Laurent; a sister, Claire Hayden; two brothers, Leo Desrosiers and Robert E. Desrosiers; and sister-in-law, Laurette C. (Soucy) Desrosiers.
Members of her family include her four children and their spouses, Michael and Patty St. Laurent of Nashua, Richard St. Laurent of Clearwater, FL, Jane B. and Raymond Ravenelle and James P. and Lea St. Laurent all of Merrimack; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth St. Laurent of Nashua; six grandchildren, Shawn St. Laurent, Sarah Martin and her husband Steve, Alyssa Marks and her husband Jamie, Ashley Ravenelle, Michael Ravenelle and Matthew St. Laurent; two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Reid Martin; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Edson Cross of Nashua; a brother, Paul A. Desrosiers of Nashua; her sisters-in-law, Pat Desrosiers of California and Sandra L. Desrosiers of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Grace M. (Hanson) Drouin, 83, of Nashua, widow of Robert J. Drouin, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 20, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health.
A lifelong resident of Nashua, Mrs. Drouin was born on August 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Walter H. and Jessie Lillian (Hope) Hanson. She was educated in the Nashua School System.
Grace was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Canada and many destinations in the USA; and loved shopping and yard sales.
Members of her family include her three children and their spouses, Robert G. and Carol Drouin of Nashua, Craig G. and Ellin Drouin of Chester, NH and Ann G. and David Johnson of Nashua; nine grandchildren, Derek, Brian, Robbie, Morgan and Kyle Drouin, and Justin, Austin, Alaina and Faith Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Kate and Olivia; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Bob who passed away in 2002; Grace was also predeceased by her brother, Herman H. Hanson; and her sisters, Barbara Clark, Arlene LeBlanc, Lila Ledoux and Carol Hanson.

Patricia A. (Powers) Smith, 59, of Londonderry, passed away at her home, Saturday morning, November 19, 2016 with her loving and caring son Joel by her side after a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Willis R. and Mildred R. (Cherry) Powers, she was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 25, 1957. Patricia grew up in Billerica, MA and was a graduate of Billerica High School Class of 1975. She also made her home in Milford, NH for several years, then Jaffrey and Peterborough for a time before moving to Londonderry.
Patricia had been employed at the Hudson Mills; The Manchester Airport, Dupont Pharmaceuticals in Billerica, MA and later with the former Kollsman Instruments in Merrimack.
A loving and devoted mother, Patricia was an excellent cook and gardener. She loved antiquing, craft fairs and yard sales.
Members of her family include her son, Joel M. Powers of Peterborough, NH; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara and Jerry Reed of Tecumseh, MI and Jeanne Sauve of Lake Orion, MI; her nieces and nephews, Heath Goodwin, Jeremy Goodwin, Danielle Goodell, Marcy Burnham and Jason Powers. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Willis and Mildred; and her sister, Mildred Rita Vachon, who passed away in 2005.
