Helen M. Burns, 95, of Nashua, NH, widow of Robert C. Burns, and formerly of Lowell Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, December 16, 2016 at The Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH after a period of declining health.

Helen was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Adolphe and Polina (George) Faticanti. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and worked several years in an administrative role for a local textile company. She met her beloved husband Bob on the dance floor at the Commodore Ballroom where it was love at first dance. They married and became longtime residents of Nashua where Helen made her home and raised her loving family. She was a communicant of St. Christopher Church. Helen was an avid reader, accomplished cook and had a love for ballroom dancing. Her love, loyalty and support to her family is an inspiration and example to all who knew her. Her beautiful smile lit every room she walked into and will never be forgotten.

Members of her family include her six children and their spouses and partners: James Burns and Elizabeth McLaughlin, Kathleen and Duane Osterkamp, Rosemarie and Tony Cermenaro, Sheila Burns, Marianne and Paul Houghton, Charles and Patty Burns; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Tara Goldenberg, Erin Osterkamp, Jennifer Cermenaro, Robert Houghton, Melissa Houghton, Justin Cermenaro, Sarah Houghton, Landon Goldenberg, Caiden Burns, Braedyn Burns and Colton Goldenberg; her sister Carmela Faticanti; brother in law Thomas Burns and sister in law Sandra Burns; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, twin sons Peter and Paul, brothers Victor, Louis and Frank Faticanti and sisters Rita Jezak and Marilyn Faticanti.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Wednesday evening, December 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, Thursday morning at 11 o’clock. Friends and family are invited to attend. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Marguerite’s Place in Nashua, NH. I fondly remember all the fun & loving stories of the Burns / Fanticanti family through the years. It seems that Helen was always in the center of it all, a wonderfully strong and loving mother. It is sad she is gone, but not forgotten.
