Gigliotti, Bridget J.

Bridget Jane (Grogan) Gigliotti, 49, of Nashua, NH, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, following a brief illness. She passed peacefully, with her husband of nearly 21 years, Thomas C. Gigliotti, by her side.

A resident of Nashua since 2006, she was born in El Paso, Texas on April 23, 1973,  Bridget grew up in Bedford, NH and was a graduate of Manchester West High School Class of 1991. She furthered her education at Stonehill College in Easton, MA where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1995 and her Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University in Boston.

Bridget was a dedicated educator having taught kindergarten, first and second grade throughout her over 25-year career. She served as kindergarten teacher at Stratton Elementary School in Arlington, MA for over 16 years and most recently a teacher at the Greenhalge Elementary School in Lowell, MA. She loved teaching and was a tremendous advocate and supporter to children with special needs.

Bridget was a beautiful friend to all she met and truly loved her family and friends with all of her heart. Bridget was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece, putting her family first in all she did. She cherished opportunities to spend time with friends and family, especially her trips to Mirror Lake, Pennsylvania, and New York and weekends spent with her friends from Stonehill. When she couldn’t spend time with her family and friends, she was the first one to pick up the phone and call. Her husband Tom was truly the love of her life. They met at Stonehill College and were inseparable ever since. On October 13, 2001, they held their wedding in the Stonehill chapel. Bridget and Tom loved going to concerts, cheering on the Patriots and the Red Sox, watching old movies and laughing together. Ever the devoted mother, Michael was Bridget’s greatest pride and joy. She was so proud of all he achieved in school and track and cross country. Bridget loved being a part of the communities at both St. Christopher school and Bishop Guertin High School and beyond excited for Michael to attend Keene State College.

Bridget is predeceased by her father-in-law, Thomas L. Gigliotti of Medford, MA and her beloved grandmother Dorothy (Schultz) Ruddy and aunt Marie (Lavan) Harding, both of Wilkes-Barre, PA. She is survived by her husband Tom, her son, Michael T. Gigliotti; her parents, Dennis and Dorothy (Ruddy) Grogan of Whitefield, NH (formerly Bedford and Manchester, NH); her sister, Carrie (Grogan) Abbott, her husband Christopher Abbott and nieces Payton and Madelyn Abbott of Syracuse, NY; mother-in-law Charlotte A. Gigliotti of the Villages, FL (formerly Medford, MA); sister-in-law Michele Gigliotti and her nieces Isabella and Sophia Flores of Florida; her beloved dog, Scout and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family extends their sincerest thanks for the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH for the care they provided.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday, June 10 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. I am so sad to hear of Bridget's passing. Bridget taught all three of my children at Stratton Elementary. I can remember Michael coming into the class at the end of the school year because he got out of school before Arlington. I am so sorry to the family for your loss. My heart and thoughts go out to you all.

Dearest Dottie, I was so very so to hear of Bridget's passing. My heart goes out to you and your family during this most difficult time. I had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting Bridget a few years back at the Stache Dash in Manchester. First impressions make an impact and Bridget certainly did. She was a positive ray of sunshine, the type of person that made you feel warm and welcome, like you had been friends forever. May her memory be eternal.

My husband Scott and I went to high school with her and I still remember her voice and smile making everyone feel welcomed. My deepest condolences to the Grogan/Gigliotti families and friends. Thinking and praying for all of you. Bridget- RIP.

I met Bridget online while I was pregnant with my youngest child in 2003. We chatted about having babies the same age and shared stories about motherhood, marriage, friendships and challenges. I always told her that I had wished I was born a lot later and could have had her as MY kindergarten teacher. She was so good, nurturing and capable. We took our kids to the Utica Zoo when they were about 2 and it was the hottest day of the year, over 100 degrees. We were melting and our kids were grumpy but we smiled and tried to enjoy the time together anyway. Years later we would laugh about how we were barely holding it together. I was regularly inspired to be a better Mom, wife, sister and friend because of Bridget. I wish I had more time to get together with her. I'll forever regret not making the most of the years we had. She was such a devoted wife and mother and Michael was everything to her. The only solace in this pain is that she is in her grandmother's arms right now, where I know she is at peace. Tom and Michael and Carrie, we are holding you all in prayer as you walk through this valley. We are so sorry.

Thinking of you & Sandy, Denny. I remember playing with Bridget in childhood. She always had that smile and sweet personality. No doubt she is in company with NeNe now. Can't wait to see them both again on the other side, but know she'll be missed here. So sorry.

Bridget taught Kindergarten at Stratton to both of my kids many years ago and became a friend in the years following. She had a smile and kind words for everyone around her and will be missed greatly by the students and families that had the privilege to know her throughout the years. She was the proudest of moms to Michael, who was like a rockstar when he would visit the K classroom. Each time we caught up through the years she shared photos and news of Michael's accomplishments, absolutely beaming with pride and love. Bridget's sweet spirit will live on in the hearts of the students and families that had the pleasure to know her. Our hearts and prayers are with you and we are deeply saddened by your loss.

It is with deep saddness I write this. Bridget and I met way back when when we taught at the Charter School, Somerville, MA. She was an exempliary teacher and generous person to all. Children gravitated to her and adults took note of her love of teaching and sense of purpose. Inspired, did she! To Tom, Michael, family and friends, my heartfelt condolences. I know the power faith and faith practices and know that the Merciful Lord will care for Bridget and you across the days. With peace and kindness, Brian

As a fellow kindergarten teacher in Arlington, I always enjoyed the times that I was lucky to visit Bridget's classroom. She created a classroom that was warm, inviting, and fun. Bridget would take time to discuss curriculum and share her amazing ideas with me. More importantly, Bridget's friendly and down to earth personality made me feel accepted and liked. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with her. My sadness for Tom and Michael is deep. She would speak with such pride about you both. Michael, we all know just how much she loves you. Your mom shared updated pictures with us at each teacher meeting. You will remain in my prayers.

I have such fond memories dancing with Bridget back when I was young, I looked up to her so much and we had a lot of fun! The beauty of social media reconnected us a few years ago and she was always quick with a sweet message or comment. Our boys are only a year apart in age so it has been fun to “mom brag” to each other about their accomplishments, she was so proud! And so happy! My heart aches for Michael and Tom, as well as for her extended family and friends. All the love from Atlanta.

I was so shocked to hear of Bridget’s passing. I had no idea she was sick. Bridget was one of my kindergarten mentors back when I first started teaching in Arlington 13 years ago. I always loved going to visit her classroom and watching her teach, she was so amazing with the kids and an amazing mentor to us new teachers. She was so patient and kind and was happy to share any materials with us. She always made she we knew how to perform the assessments and was always willing to help. I’m now one of the kindergarten mentors myself and I owe a lot of what I’ve learned over the year from Bridget. My heart goes out to all of her family and friends especially her husband Tom and son Michael. She always spoke of Michael and you could tell he was her pride and joy!
