   Della Y. Doherty, 88, of Nashua, widow of Eugene T. “Sarge” Doherty, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2023 at the Community Hospice in Merrimack.         

    Born in Nashua on June 10, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Rose M. (Boucher) Soucy. Della was educated in local parochial schools and had been employed at the Doehla Greeting Card Company for many years. She later worked at the Kmart department store at Somerset Plaza in Nashua.

    A devout Catholic, Della was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. In her leisure time, she loved traveling, square dancing and dining at many area restaurants.

    Della was predeceased by her first husband “Buster” Eugene Crawford who passed away in 2000 and her second husband “Sarge” who passed away March 24, 2018. They were married on September 29, 2001 and shared over 17 years together. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Roland E. Soucy and Albert E. Soucy; and her sister, Claire F. Kenney.

    Members of her family include her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Annette Crawford of Litchfield; her granddaughter, Nicole Zelli and her husband Tony of Litchfield; her sister, Marguerite R. Dionne of Nashua; also nieces and nephews.

     There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Saturday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church. Aunt Della can now rest in peace. She touched many lives in her 88 years and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

I wanted to express my condolences to the family. I knew Della and Sarge through the Rivier Prayer community. I have many memories of them being active participants
