To Julia and the family. So sorry for your loss. I knew Jim from our many days at Digital Equipment Corporation together, the yearly MLK celebration he worked on at First Baptist and other things that benefited the community. Jim was always a just great guy and a great person to be around. He was positive and always looking to make things better. We will all miss his light in the world.

I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know Jim and Julie through our Nashua Area Interfaith Council (NAIC)- Choir and her other networks, including the Emmaus Institute collaborative meetings. What an epitome of “living faith”, our dear Brother- Jim, has exemplified! With the love of his life- our dear Sister Julie! May I hereby join the host of saints here on earth in singing all the inspiring Adieu songs we’ve ever sung, and rejoicing that another saint (Jim Leonard), has joined the saints above. May our dear Sister- Julie and their entire family be comforted beyond human comprehension, in Jesus Mighty Name. May lots of love and blessings, continue to abound among us, in Jim’s memory! All to the glory of God!

Dearest Julia and family, This obituary is one of the most wonderful I have ever read: Jim did so many fine and VARIED things! He was a leader in every endeavor he undertook. Jim was a fully evolved, self-actualized human being and contributed so much to so many lives. I am so glad I had the privilege to know him and be touched by his strength, kindness, and great faith. I can only imagine the great loss you are feeling and have been experiencing since his illness began. May God comfort you as you journey-on without his presence, knowing he loved you so very, very much. His loving spirit will always be with you. With much love, Susan Joy

Part of a man’s legacy can be measured through his children. While I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Leonard, I have worked with his son, Shanon, for a long time. Besides being proud of his son’s accomplishments, Mr. Leonard and the broader Leonard family can also be proud of the character they instilled in him. In reading this lovely farewell message, it’s clear that Mr. Leonard lived a long and impactful life. May the family be comforted with a peace that surpasses all understanding during this difficult time.

I am saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I considered it an honor to play with him in several groups, including the Hollis Band and a quintet we formed of HTB members. Jim was always the gentleman, overlooking my fumbling efforts at tuba playing. I can't imagine how he managed to close down that Digital plant as the last HR person standing. I hope he's at rest now.

Jim served on the Board of Directors of the Emmaus Institute, Inc. for many years. I came to know him as clear thinking, concerned for people and as a Godly man. I count it a privilege to have worked with him and to have known him.

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I knew him first as a French horn player in the Hollis Town Band, and then as a fellow tenor singing in the Nashua Interfaith Choir, but always as a gentle, kind, funny soul. He will be missed.

Jim and I kept in touch long after he left the Hollis Town Band, but, alas, time marched on, and I failed to keep in contact with him. I so regret that now. Jim was truly a gentle giant, though small in stature, and it was truly a privilege to have known him. My sincere condolences to Julia, whom I sang with, along with Jim, in the Souhegan Valley Chorus for many years. He will be truly missed, but at least now he can play French Horn in Gabriel's Band and sing with the angels in heaven.

So sorry to learn of Jim's passing. It was a privilege to play with him in the Hollis Town Band. I also have a fond memory of Jim, Phil (another Hollis Town Band member) and me at a RISE gathering where part of the entertainment was a music trivia game. Jim always seemed to know where the musicians were from. My sincere condolences to family.
