Joseph F. Gall, Jr., 67, a well-known Nashua attorney, passed away at his home, Thursday, August 18, 2016.
Born in Washington, D.C. on April 4, 1949, he was a son of the late Atty. Joseph F. and Margaret F. (Shea) Gall. A resident of Nashua since early childhood, Joe was a member of the first graduating class from Bishop Guertin High School in 1967 where he starred on the basketball team and held many scoring records. Joe attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY for two years and served two years of active duty with the Army. Following his honorable discharge, Joe attended the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana where he earned a Bachelor’s degree and then his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
Joe began his professional career in 1979 as co-founder and partner of Jordan & Gall of Nashua and ended his career as a senior partner of Jordan, Gall & Levesque, PLLC of Nashua in 2015, with many firms in between.
He was a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association and served as President in 1995; served on the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association from 1995 -2011; was a Justice of the Peace and Notary Public. Active in the Nashua community, he served on the Board of Directors of Home Health & Hospice Care of Merrimack; was Chairman of the Board of Directors and Legal Advisor of the Adult Learning Center of Nashua; and served on the Board of Directors of the Nashua Children’s Home. Joe was a member of the American Legion, James E. Coffey Post #3 of Nashua; the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Rails to Trails Conservancy.
An avid outdoorsman and world traveler throughout his life, he shared his passions for hiking, biking, and whitewater rafting with his sons and friends. His favorite travels included rafting trips to Russia, Chile, and the Grand Canyon, as well as biking trips through Italy and New Zealand.
Members of his family include his three sons, Andrew J. Gall and his wife Lisbeth of Guatemala, Matthew J. Gall of Chicago, IL and Kevin C. Gall and his wife Katrina of Dover, NH; his former wife, Jeanne (Valliere) Gall of Nashua; his close friend, Patricia Murray of Hollis; his brothers and their wives, John D. and Peggy Gall of Arlington, VA and Timothy A. and Sharen Gall of Fort Wayne, IN; his aunt, Katherine (Shea) Morgan of Portsmouth; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday August 23rd from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home, Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock followed by interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Family and friends are invited to attend. Donations may be made in his memory to the Adult Learning Center, 4 Lake Street, Nashua, NH 03060. Joe was a fair, just, and caring person. Whenever my family needed him, he was there. He will be greatly missed. Loved having him in my corner. To the Gall family you have all of our sympathy.
