I had the privilege of being one of Mr. Christiansen's many driver Ed students and will always remember the Saturday morning driving lessons. He was a great teacher and over the years I've told many people about one Saturday in particular when he was casually putting creamer in a cup of coffee sitting on an open glove box and I was then told to step on the brake, did so and within seconds he was wiping coffee from his lap and made a mental note to wait on our next lesson before having that morning cup. RIP Mr Christiansen.

Joe was my first boss in the education field, and I fondly remember our years together at Nashua High. He was a very caring, fair, and sensible fellow with a sense of humor as well! Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. A fine man like Joe will be greatly missed. You are in my prayers.

Mr. Christiansen was the best! He taught me to drive at Nashua High, (now South) in 1986. I always enjoyed talking to you when you came in for tires. Deepest sympathy to all his family, friends and past students. You will always be remembered!

There is certainly a hole in our world since the news of Joe's passing. Joe was a dear friend to both of us and we cherish the memories of spring training games, concerts, cookouts, dinner parties, plays, Arizona Oprey, Fountain Hills and culinary experiences, etc. As Gary says, "Joe knew more about sports than anyone he ever met"! I guess that is because he read 5 newspapers a day! We witnessed firsthand as he put into action his motto "do one good deed for someone today". He never was too busy to lend a hand or offer advice. We were enriched by his life and grieve his loss. We hold his lovely family in our thoughts and prayers.

Please accept my deepest sympathy to Mr. Christiansen's family and friends. May the memories of your lives with him live on in your hearts forever. He was my Driver Education teacher back in the late 70's and he was the best!! He's a man that I've always respected and I've never forgotten the lessons he taught me such as the Exit 5 on/off ramp being one of the most dangerous so he'd make us drive it over and over and over again and I'm glad he did. Still to this day every time I use that exit Mr. Christiansen always comes to mind.

Margie, Kathy, Brian and Lori, Words cannot express the sadness we feel right now for your loss. Joe was always one to pull no punches when he spoke and his word meant something to everyone that spoke to him. His generosity and kindness will always be remembered in our hearts and prayers. May the strength he brought out in others bring you the same comfort at this time.
