Congratulations to all you kids for having your Mother with you for 99 years. Your parents were very helpful to me when I started my painting business. Whether it was referrals, sharing business knowledge or painting their home, both of your parents were wonderful! Your Mom was very helpful to my mother, providing transportation to charity events or friendship. When I think of your Mom, it makes me smile. We all have lost a special person.

To her family and friends my condolences on your loss. The times I was over at the house she (and your dad) were such great people. Again, condolences to all.

It’s been 12 days and, somehow, Earth keeps spinning despite the loss of Mildred D’Eri. The two — Earth and Mildred — had a good thing going for 99 years, in New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire. Maybe, after 99 years, they made a deal. I like to think that she was ready and agreed to go, provided that her five precious children were thriving and she could see “Daddy” and Nick. That a deal was a deal. She was good at deals — good at business, interior design, writing, poker, singing, tap dancing, driving, being a mom. And she had a generous ear for me, Maribeth’s bestie, for the past 57 years. She let me in. And she let me pretend I was one of the gang, when I hung out in her beautiful home and gobbled up all that Italian laughter and deliciousness. Mildred would not only sit patiently, she would CHEER at the end, when Maribeth and I put on our “shows” in her living room, including (but far from limited to) Swan Lake, Annie, Cheech & Chong and Carol Burnett imitations, “We’ll always be bosom buddies, friends, sisters and (arms raised) half a boat!” — not to mention our perfect 10 gymnastic routines exactly like Olga Korbut (me) and Nadia Comanici (Maribeth). Now it’s my turn to cheer. So, Mildred? I’m cheering you on, wherever you may be, forever grateful for you and your entire family. YAY Mildred! Yours, Htebazile

Losing the matriarch of the family is a tremendous loss as it is the passing of a great generation. Live your lives as she would have wished to be remembered. I’m sure she was most proud of all of you. Rest In Peace, Mildred.

I love you Mom. You should be proud of yourself that you lived 100 years and how you entertained everyone until the end. See you on the other side and give a huge hug and kiss to Daddy.
