   Priscilla R. Slatunas, 76, a lifelong Nashua resident and retired school teacher, passed away early Friday morning, September 27, 2019 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, after a period of declining health.        

   Born in Nashua on July 28, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Frances (Walentukevich) and Staff Sergeant Stanley Slatunas. Priscilla was also predeceased by an infant sister, Katherine Slatunas and her step-fathers, Edmund Wolodzko and William T.R. Ward.  

   Educated in local schools, Priscilla was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1961 and furthered her education at Keene Teachers College, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1965.

    Priscilla was a teacher in the Nashua School District for over thirty years. She taught 5th and 6th grades at Broad Street Elementary School, Birch Hill Elementary School and Mount Pleasant Elementary School. She was a member of the Nashua School Teacher’s Association. In her leisure time, she loved taking care of her flower gardens.

    Members of her family include her brother, Edmund Stanley Wolodzko and her nephew, Michael P. Wolodzko both of Nashua; and cousins including Roberta Woitkowski of Nashua, Richard and Sandra Walent of Portsmouth and Martha Walent of Merrimack.     

    There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will take place at Pinewood Cemetery (former Lithuanian Cooperative Cemetery), 98 Pine Hill Road, Nashua, Tuesday, October 1st at 11 a.m. The Rev. Melinda LaMontagne, Ph.D., Pastor of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC will officiate. Friends are invited to attend. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Sending condolences to the family. I had Miss Slatunas for 5th grade at Broad Street School. She was one of my favorite teachers; I loved her enthusiasm and kindness. May she rest in peace.
