Yvonne E. Mitchell, 82, widow of Peter R. Mitchell, passed away Sunday evening, May 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital.

    Yvonne was born in Londonderry, NH to the late George L. and Ernestine (Lapointe) Lajoie. One of eight, her and her siblings grew up and attended schools in the Nashua area.

     She married the love of her life, Peter R. Mitchell on June 20, 1953. The couple made their home in Hudson, where they raised their three daughters. Yvonne was devoted to her family and did everything in her power to ensure they were cared for at all times. Her love for family extended beyond her husband and children as she opened her home to her two nieces Noreen and Jacqueline Tappan. Yvonne and her family enjoyed cookouts, camping, and snowmobiling. She was an avid knitter.

     During her life, Yvonne worked for Nashua Corporation, Garrison Farm Stand, and later worked for R.D.F. in Hudson for twenty years until her retirement in 2001.

      Yvonne is predeceased by her husband, parents, and five of her siblings; Doris, Leo, Earl, Lorraine, and Robert. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Donna & David Greenlaw, Susan & Gerald Cloutier, Wendy & Brian Banker; five grandchildren, Sean Greenlaw, Chad Greenlaw & Sarah Spates, Jill & Shaun Cianci, Andrew Cloutier, and Brandon Banker; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Greenlaw, and Easton Cianci; brother, John Lajoie; sister, Connie Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

      The family will have a private interment. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request any memorial donations be made to Manchester VA Medical Center, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104.
